How it works

Uppercase and lowercase follow Unicode letter mappings for the selected language. Title case starts every word with a capital and lowers the remaining letters. Sentence case lowers the text, then capitalizes sentence starts and new lines. For example, “hello WORLD!” becomes “Hello world!” in sentence case.

Identifier styles split words at separators and changes in capitalization. “Hello world” becomes “helloWorld”, “HelloWorld”, “hello_world”, “hello-world” or “HELLO_WORLD”. These styles use language-neutral casing and keep letters such as ä; they do not transliterate text.

This is a mechanical conversion, not proofreading. Title case does not apply a publisher’s small-word rules, and sentence case may change names, abbreviations or the English pronoun I. Review the result before using it.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text uploaded or stored?

No. Conversion happens in the browser. The tool does not save the text or put it in the URL.

Why does Turkish i need a language setting?

In Turkish, i becomes İ and ı becomes I. Choose Turkish for prose conversion. Identifier styles use language-neutral mappings, so their behavior differs.

Does title case follow APA or Chicago style?

No. It capitalizes every word, including short words such as “and” or “the”.

Will sentence case preserve proper names?

No. It lowers the text before capitalizing sentence starts. Correct names and abbreviations afterward.

Are snake_case and kebab-case valid identifiers everywhere?

No. They are naming styles, not language-specific validation. Numbers at the start and non-ASCII letters may require changes.

Does converting back restore the original?

Not always. Uppercasing ß can produce SS, and separator removal loses information. Keep the original text if you need it.
