The local landing time from the departure time and the hours in the air, across time zones, daylight saving time and the date line.

How to use

  1. Pick the time zone you leave from and type the departure time as it is on the ticket.
  2. Enter how long the flight is, and pick the time zone you land in.
  3. Add the departure date if it is not today; it decides daylight saving time.
  4. To find how long a flight really is, choose Time in the air and type both times from the timetable.

How it works

Tickets and timetables give every time as the local time at that airport. The flight itself takes a fixed time, so the landing time is the departure moment plus the time in the air, read on the arrival city's clock.

Arrival local time = departure local time + elapsed flight time + (arrival UTC offset − departure UTC offset). Crossing time zones can put arrival on a different calendar day, so always include the dates.

The offsets and daylight saving dates come from the IANA time zone database built into your browser. The result is a timetable calculation: real flights leave late, take shorter or longer routes and wait for a gate.

Worked example

When does a 9 hr flight leaving Helsinki at 10:00 AM on Oct 15, 2026 arrive in New York?

  1. Helsinki is 7 hours ahead of New York on this date.
  2. Add 9 hr: arrival is 7:00 PM in Helsinki.

12:00 PM in New York on Oct 15, 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my ticket show a shorter or longer flight than the times suggest?

Because both times on the ticket are local. Subtracting them ignores the time zone difference; this tool takes it into account, so you see the real time in the air.

How can a flight land before it took off?

Crossing the date line eastwards, for example from Auckland to Honolulu, sets the clock back almost a day. You land on the previous date by the local calendar.

Is the time zone the same as the airport's country?

Usually, but large countries have several zones. Pick the city closest to the airport, such as Los Angeles for LAX or Perth for PER.

Does this predict flight delays?

No. It only calculates from the times and duration you enter.

What if arrival is after midnight?

Enter the arrival’s local date too. The date is needed to distinguish an overnight flight from a negative duration.
