How to use

  1. Pick the country and enter your gross salary, per month or per year.
  2. Under Tax details, add what changes the taxes there: your municipality and church in Finland, your tax class, state, church tax and children in Germany, your II pillar rate in Estonia.
  3. Read your net pay and the breakdown below it; open More options for a year of birth or a 13th salary.

How it works

Gross salary is what your contract says; net salary is what reaches your bank account. In between, the employer withholds income taxes and your own share of social insurance (pension, unemployment and, depending on the country, health and care insurance). The employer also pays its own contributions on top of the gross, which is why a job costs more than the salary.

Net = gross − taxes − your contributions. The calculator works out the whole year from your annual gross, then divides it by the payments.

It is an estimate. A single payslip can differ, because withholding is worked out month by month, and personal deductions (commuting, interest, allowances entered on a German tax card), bonuses and private health insurance are not included. The rules and their sources are listed under the result.

Worked example

What is the net monthly pay on €2,100.00 in Estonia in 2026, with a 2% funded pension and 12 payments?

  1. €2,100.00 − €33.60 − €42.00 − €291.37 = €1,733.03.

€1,733.03 per month, using the full tax-free allowance.

Frequently asked questions

Which tax class should I pick?

Class I if you are single, II as a single parent, III or V when married with different pay (the higher earner takes III), IV when both earn about the same, VI for a second job.

Why is there a childless surcharge?

From age 23, people without children pay 0.6 % more care insurance. Enter your children under 25 to remove it; from the second child the rate goes down.

Is the solidarity surcharge still charged?

Only on high wage tax: most employees pay none. It shows as 0 when it does not apply.
