A Yes or No for the connection this page used.

How to use

  1. Read Yes or No, then the address used for this connection.
  2. Compare the approximate location and network with the connection you expect.
  3. Use Copy to copy the address, or check again after switching networks.

How it works

Yes means this page was reached over IPv6. No means it was reached over IPv4; your network may still support IPv6. This page does not test a separate IPv6-only destination.

IP location is an estimate based on address ranges allocated to networks. It is not GPS and cannot locate a home or a person. DB-IP Lite supplies approximate places and autonomous system numbers (ASNs); an ASN identifies a network, not necessarily your retail provider. Missing details are left unknown.

Worked example

What can an address tell you?

  1. 192.0.2.1 is an example of IPv4 notation.
  2. 2001:db8::1 is an example of IPv6 notation.
  3. Both are reserved documentation addresses, not live connections or locations.

The notation identifies the address family. It does not reveal a person’s exact position.

Frequently asked questions

What does Yes prove?

It confirms that this request reached our server using an IPv6 address. It does not test every app or destination.

Does No mean IPv6 is unavailable?

No. The browser chose IPv4 for this request. Both versions may be available, or a VPN may change which one is used.

Can a VPN change the IPv6 answer?

Yes. The VPN tunnel and its exit can use a different address family from your device’s local network.

I enabled IPv6. Why does this page still say No?

A browser may prefer IPv4 or fall back to it for one destination. This single request cannot distinguish those causes.

Can I compare two connections?

Yes. Switch your own network or VPN, then check again. Each answer describes only the connection used for that request.
