How it works
An age counts whole years first, then whole months, then the days left over. A year or a month is complete on the day with the same number: someone born on 17 May turns a year older on every 17 May, and is a month older on the 17th of each month.
When a month has no day with that number, the period ends on the month's last day. So a person born on 31 January is one month old on 28 February (29 February in a leap year), and a person born on 29 February has their birthday on 28 February in common years. This is a common way to count; Finnish law, for example, counts months and years like this (Act 150/1930, section 3), but legal rules elsewhere can differ.
Dates are whole calendar days, so the time of birth and time zones do not count. Today is the date on your own device.

How old is someone born on May 17, 1990 on Oct 14, 2026?
- Count whole years, then whole months, then the remaining days.
36 years, 4 months and 27 days; 13,299 days in total.

When does someone born on 29 February have a birthday?
On 29 February in leap years and on 28 February in other years, as Finnish law counts months and years. Other legal systems may count it differently.
Why do the total weeks and days not match the years exactly?
Years and months have different lengths. The totals count the actual days between the two dates, including every leap day.
Is my date of birth saved?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, and the date of birth is left out of the page address and shared links unless you choose to include it.
How many days old am I?
The result shows your age in total days as well as in years, months and days. Leap years are counted exactly, which is why it can differ from multiplying your age by 365.
Can I calculate age on a past or future date?
